Brothers Feeding Others
For more than two decades, Lambda Chi Alpha chapters have taken an active role in donating non-perishable food to those in need. On July 27, 2013, Lambda Chi Alpha formally announced their new partnership with Feeding America. Feeding America is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that leads the fight against hunger in the United States. This new partnership has created an opportunity to significantly increase the amount of food and funds collected at nearly 200 chapters across North America. Since 1993 chapters and colonies have raised more than 45 million pounds of food for the needy. In the 2014-2015 academic year, Lambda Chi Alpha chapters and colonies collected over 3.6 million pounds of food.
Our chapter at Arkansas State has been able to contribute significantly to this nationwide effort. 100% of the food we collect goes to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas, our local Feeding America branch. Through many organized events such as our annual Miss Greek Goddess competition and Sandblast Volleyball Tournament, the Iota Theta chapter has raised 46,507 pounds of food in the last two years alone.
